Our People
Our People
Wattyl employs approximately 1,700
people throughout Australia and New
Zealand in a wide range of jobs,
functions and locations.
We recognise that the success of our
business and its long term
sustainability depends on the skills,
competency, experience, commitment
and behaviour of our people.
Values
Our Company Values underpin
everything we do and the way we
work together.
We aim to have a diverse and
inclusive culture where all our people
feel they are treated with respect, their
contribution is valued and they can
reach their full potential.
High Performance Culture
& Accountability
We are also committed to developing
a high performance culture that
attracts, retains and engages talented
people.
We have streamlined our organisation
structure allowing for clearer reporting
lines and communication of objectives
and encourage, promote and
recognise performance excellence
through our annual feedback systems
and reward programmes.
Developing our People
Our aim is to develop our people from
within the Company through on the
job training, cross functional
assignments and job transfers,
internal promotion and external
training as required.
During the year we have had a
number of opportunities in our new
Sales and Marketing organisation and
we are proud of our ability to appoint
internal candidates to these roles.
This year we are introducing a more
structured approach to succession
planning and development to ensure
we have the necessary talent pool of
experience, competence and depth to
sustain our future performance.
Leadership
We have identified core leadership
behaviours and skill competencies
required of our senior management
team and are now developing a
leadership programme to assist their
training and development.
The first step in this programme is an
in-house course we have developed
with the Macquarie Graduate School
of Management (MGSM) designed to
enhance financial management and
business acumen skills.
Safety
Improving safety is a key focus.
We are committed to ensuring our
sites are managed safely and that our
people, customers and suppliers are
not injured at work. To this end, we
have recruited a National OH&S
Manager to facilitate the development
and implementation of a national
safety framework and programme.
